Discover your Inner Artist

If you have an interest in art you are probably more than capable to paint. Explore your interest & see what might happen ! This is not about getting it ‘right’, it is all about enjoying yourself.

“I can’t paint”

“I’ve got no talent”

“I don’t understand Art” … sounds familiar??

Don’t worry about having to perform or be able to draw as my classes are aimed at the artistically insecure or scared & you may surprise yourself & find you have loads of ability!!

When you enter SoSilke World you will find the course at my studio is reassuringly student centred and due to small numbers ( I take upto 3 students per class) I can give you plenty of individual support and attention.

Discover tricks & aids like photography & projectors to create your individual piece of art with or without accuracy! Sometimes it’s good to experiment & mistakes often turn out to be the best bit of your painting . Let serendipity take its course !

Please note that at the moment I have taken the online Schedule off and will be happy to respond to your enquiry by email or text regarding the booking of classes.

Testimonials

I had such a wonderful time at this workshop. I have always loved looking at art but could never understand how to put brush to paper.
Silke’s passion for art and teaching was evident in her humorous and enthusiastic approach. She dissolved all barriers of fear and instilled in us the joy and fun of creation.
I am so encouraged with my ‘potential’ that I have now signed up for a follow up weekly course on pastels.
I can’t recommend Silke’s ‘I Wish I Could Paint’ workshops highly enough if you want to have fun in learning how to draw.

If you are sitting on the fence about signing up to the ‘wish I could paint workshops’, (like I was)I would suggest you jump right in. I really had never painted before, and with Silke’s guidance have been able to produce some pieces that I’m quite proud of. A small friendly group, and lovely relaxed atmosphere to learn in. I now have the confidence to go away and have a go on my own. At some point I will return to learn how to use pastels too. Thank-you so much Silke

Have just done a one off pastels session with Silke and it was superb! Really enjoyed it!! Silke puts you at your ease and guides you through some simple techniques so that you create something you can be very proud of!

MY Philosophy

Everyone’s an artist. Let me help you find yours in a relaxed and fun environment. Forget about performance, competing and accuracy. You are creating a unique piece of Art. Straight lines are boring - where do you see them in nature? When you paint you are using the right side of your brain, which concerns itself with creativity, insight and intuition. This gives the left side where analytic thought, reasoning, language and maths occur a brilliant opportunity to defrag. You can feel yourself released from pressure and simply enjoy the moment. Magical things happen when you allow your creativity to unfold….

About Me

MY NAME IS Silke

Originally from Schleswig Holstein, Germany I have lived and worked in Essex for forty years. Growing up in a family where only original art was displayed, mostly by my great grandma Vala Lamberger, I have always had a passionate interest in Fine Art. I realised my ability to paint when I was in my thirties and completed a Fine Art degree in2015, as a so-called mature student.

My work has been displayed and sold here and abroad in numerous galleries and I now take commissions regularly.

Having enjoyed numerous courses over the decades, I am now delighted to pass my skills on to Absolute Beginners. You can see from the comments & photos, there is really no doubt that painting makes one happy!
